I think its very important to do random little things like this. Being part of the community is very important and keeps you aware of who is around you. I myself am part of a few clubs at school, as well as outside programs. We do community service for at least 6 hours every month or two. Honestly, I think it helps people more than they think. It sort of sets a balance, for staying with the people who support and watch out for you.
